Two-Car Collision on West Side Injures One

A two-vehicle collision on Effingham's west side injured one driver.

The crash happened at 9:04pm Monday on US Route 40 at Outer Belt West. Effingham city police report a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Mitchell Kurtz of Dieterich turned in front of, and collided with, a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Zachary Correll of Altamont.

Correll was injured, but declined treatment. Kurtz was cited for failure to yield.
