Brownstown Woman Injured in Crash

A Brownstown woman was injured in a crash west of Effingham Monday morning.

The crash happened at 10:49am on US Route 40 at Country Club Road. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a pickup truck driven by 63-year-old Linda Richardson ran off the highway to the right, crossed back and off the opposite side of the highway and traveled down an embankment.

Richardson was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Richardson was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
