U of I Dean of Ag Visits Effingham County

The dean of the University of Illinois College of Agriculture visited Effingham for a Meet and Greet at the Effingham County Extension Office.

Kimberlee Kidwell is the first female to serve as the Agriculture college dean. Kidwell said she initially didn't think that was a big deal, but now understands the encouragement it can be to other women seeking to move into leadership roles.

Kidwell shares concerns heard about the lack of young people going into Ag Education. She said one item to address is the income earned when compared to other careers.
