A write-in candidate won one of the races decided Tuesday in Clay County.

Eric Bailey was elected highway commissioner in Larkinsburg Township with 58 votes. Perry Robinson, the only candidate for highway commissioner on the ballot, received 45 votes.

Voter turnout in Clay County Tuesday was 19.88%, 1,963 voters of 9,873 registered voters cast a ballot.

In the Xenia Township trustee race, Jordan Luttrell, Nancy Coughlin, Andrew Cox and Dawn West were elected with 70, 68, 61, and 54 votes, respectively. Edward Akes got 49 votes.

In the Louisville Township trustee race, John Holkenbrink, Bill Holeman, Kenny Hord and Hughlene Rinehart were elected with 206, 179, 169, and 145 votes, respectively. Delbert Carter got 116 votes.

In the Harter Township trustee race, Donald "Skip" Dillon, Ted Whitehead, Joe Gilliland and Raymond Muhs were elected with 354, 306, 295 and 291 votes, respectively. Trudy Zimmerman got 221 votes.

In the Hoosier Township trustee race, Danny Quinn, Bill Britton, Jr., Darin Quinn were elected with 76, 68 and 48 votes, respectively, but Diana Fleener, Bob Bible and Terry Spicer each received 45 votes for the final trustee spot so a tiebreaker will be needed. Pat Quinn got 39 votes and Steve Welty got 26 votes.

In the Bible Grove Township Highway Commissioner race, Cory Wendling won over Andy Wood, 49 to 21.

In the Bible Grove trustee race, Neil Gould, Reggie Birch, Aaron Hardin and Darren Birch were elected with 62, 54, 45 and 42 votes, respectively. Quinton Wood got 23 votes.

In the Clay City Township Supervisor race, Shannon French won over Jeanne Harbin, 189 to 96.

In the Clay City Township Clerk race, Mike Spitzner defeated Richard Turner, 174 to 96.

In the Clay City Township Highway Commissioner race, Kevin Henry won over Steve Lewis, 159 to 130.

In the Clay City Township trustee race, Terry Woodrow, Steven Spitzner, Ralph Dwight Hancock, and Eric Stanley were elected with 173, 138, 133, and 122 votes, respectively. Bill Staser got 121 votes, one fewer than Stanley, Brad Harris got 113 votes, Rod Franklin got 105 votes, and Charles Young got 68 votes.

In the Clay City Unit 10 school board race, Linda Schnepper, Stacy Kessler, Rachel Bruner and Misty Lindeman were elected with 264, 248, 218 and 198 votes, respectively. Darren Lewis got 170 votes and Tonya Zuber got 134 votes.

In the Flora Unit 35 school board race, Curtis Leib, Rick Porter and Justin Cook were the three leading vote-getters with 483, 331 and 306, respectively. Tera Conklin got 254 votes, Rodney Hawkins got 229 votes, and Aaron Holman got 147 votes.

In the Xenia Fire District trustee race, Dewayne Wesner and Bill Bradley were elected with 133 and 93 votes, respectively. Joyce O'Donnell got 63 votes.

The Village of Louisville is going wet. On the question of whether the prohibition of alcohol sales should continue, 142 voted No while 88 voted Yes.
