The case of the Mattoon woman charged in the crash that injured members of the Teutopolis basketball team last month has been delayed for a week.

36-year-old Scarlett McKinzie is charged with a felony count of aggravated DUI as well as four traffic offenses. McKinzie's vehicle collided with the Teutopolis team bus on Illinois Route 32 at the Bruce-Findlay Road on February 10. The impact caused the bus to overturn before it skidded to a stop. Seven students on the bus were taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County for observation and were then released. McKinzie was also taken for observation to a separate hospital.

McKinzie's case was to be heard in court Monday, but her court-appointed attorney Bradford Rau has been appointed an associate circuit judge, so Moultrie County Public Defender Marvin Hanson was appointed McKinzie's new counsel. To give Hanson time to familiarize himself with the case, another status hearing has been scheduled for Monday, April 3.
