South Central Board Updated on High School Project

South Central school board members Wednesday were updated on their high school renovation project.

South Central Superintendent Kerry Herdes was joined by Jon Carroll of Poettker Construction and Steve Downen of EWR Architects regarding the construction that is underway.

The Board authorized Herdes to begin work on next year's budget, renewed membership in the IHSA for next year, and approved donations to the local ball fields for use by the school district for softball and baseball. The payments were: Kinmundy Lions Ball Field--$600, St. Peter Ball Association--$300, Village of Farina Ball Field--$300, and Kinmundy Area Sports Complex--$300.

Board members approved Gary Payne as a volunteer sponsor for the bass fishing club for the high school this spring season, and hired Kristi Blomberg and Timothy Bolin as certified employees for next school year. The Board also granted tenure to Kennard Milano, Tiffany Hails and Jennifer Decker effective next school year.
