Two Charged in Mattoon w/Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person

Brady and Schnibben both acted as a caregiver for an elderly victim in his eighties. The victim suffers from Dementia. The charges against the two allege that they each drove the victim to a bank on multiple occasions and had the victim sign his own personal checks the suspects had written out to “Cash.” The checks were made out to cash in amounts of $400.00 – $2,000.00 each time. Each suspect allegedly stole several thousand dollars from the man.
They allegedly spent the money on travel expenses, living expenses, cannabis, gasoline and cigarettes.
Both Brady and Schnibben were taken to the Coles County jail.
