Details on Friday Crash at Fayette and Mulberry

Details have been made available on a crash Friday evening at Fayette and Mulberry in Effingham.

The crash happened just after 5:30pm when a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Michael Dery of Mattoon rear-ended a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Alvero Gonzalez of Effingham.

Dery was injured and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Dery was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, DUI alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and not wearing a seat belt.

City police are also investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 300 block of Linden Street on Saturday between 3pm and 8:30pm. A Samsung Tablet was stolen valued at $100.

Police are also investigating the theft of a wallet owned by Karon Walker of Effingham at 1204 Avenue of Mid America on Saturday between 5:30pm and 5:45pm. The wallet contained a driver's license, credit cards, ID cards, Social Security cards, and an undetermined amount of cash.
