Effingham County Board Chairman Jim Niemann has announced that there will not be a vote today on the settlement with Altamont Ambulance Service.

Niemann said this morning that the paperwork will not be completed in time for the Board to vote on any issue. He said the plan is for the Board to meet at 3:30pm at the County Office Building. The Board will move into closed session to be briefed by attorney Chris Koester, and then the Board will move back into open session and adjourn with no action being taken.

Niemann said another meeting will be scheduled once the relevant paperwork associated with the matter is completed.

A court hearing Wednesday led to a settlement in principle, but Koester said at the time the agreements would need to be prepared before any action could be taken.
