You're invited to join Effingham Police Chief Jeffrey Fuesting and Lake Land College Instructor Ryan Ervin for a discussion about the aftermath of Ferguson, Missouri, the third in the Illinois Speaks-Effingham series on Thursday, February 23 at 6pm in the Workman Room at Effingham Public Library.

Chief Fuesting, a proponent of community policing, will talk about his experience as captain and commander of the St. Louis County Police Department during the turbulent summer of 2014 after the Michael Brown shooting and protests that followed.

This series of talks has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Illinois Humanities Council. Registration is required.

To register, phone the library at 217-342-2464, extension 1, e-mail info@effinghamlibrary.org or register online at www.effinghamlibrary.org
