South Central Board Acts on Personnel, End of Year Dates

South Central school board members Wednesday accepted an irrevocable letter of resignation from former teacher Sian Kuester.

The resignation was effective January 19. 

Kuester is awaiting trial in Marion County Court on a count of manufacturing harmful material, alleging that she sent nude photos of herself to one of her students. She is next due in court on February 22.

The Board also accepted a resignation from Jessica Phillips as 7th and 8th grade cheerleading sponsor as of the end of the school year, and approved leaves for Janet Mulvaney in April and a leave for Jessica Phillips.

Board members also hired Cheri Greear as a support staff employee for the district.

South Central board members set high school graduation for May 19 and middle school promotion for May 18, with both ceremonies to take place at 7pm. The Board also adopted next year's school calendar, and awarded Farmer Environmental Services the asbestos abatement contract for the high school project.
