Neoga school board members took action Thursday on items in addition to approving a four-year contract for new Superintendent Benjamin Johnson as of the next school year.

The Board heard from Jamie Easton on plans for a donor wall. The wall is to recognize those who contributed toward a track for the district. Those funds have been diverted to pay for other needs, but Easton said they still want to recognize those who donated. The wall is to be located in the junior/senior high school building near the gym.

The Board also approved the 2017-18 school year calendar. The first day for teachers will be August 17, and the first day for teachers will be August 21.

Board members discussed roof work needed at both the elementary building and the junior/senior high school building, with action possible at the March meeting. There was also discussion about possible reductions in force that could come at the March meeting.

The Board approved Matt Davis as a volunteer junior high track coach, Lucas Hunt as a spring baseball assistant coach, and Jason Titus as an assistant softball coach.
