A special moment at today's CEO Experience when Craig Lindvahl and Jack Schultz were presented copies of the Congressional Record recognition of the CEO program.

Jack Schultz, who with local educator Joe Fatheree went door-to-door to get the original backing for the CEO program in Effingham County, and Craig Lindvahl, the original CEO instructor who has gone on to spread the program to other states, were recognized in the Congressional Record for their role in the program's development.

We talked with Cheryl Mitchell, interim director of the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship that oversees the CEO effort on a national basis, about how the recognition came about...

More than 700 people had registered for the CEO Experience as of Tuesday afternoon. Schultz gave a powerful presentation on economic development and Mitchell shared how CEO is growing nationally. Keynote speakers were Chris Koch, a Minnesota farmer who was born without arms or legs and has gone on to a career as an inspirational speaker and New York Times bestselling author and life coach Lewis Howes.

The day concluded with A Taste of Effingham and a display of businesses still being operated by CEO alums, as well as a performance by the Altamont Community High School Drum Line.
