Dennis Moulton in Court on Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of Child Count

An Effingham man charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child made his initial court appearance Tuesday morning.

33-year-old Dennis Michael Moulton was arrested Sunday by Effingham County sheriff's deputies. Moulton is accused of having sexual relations with a child under age 13. The offense is alleged to have occurred at various times over the last two years.

During the Tuesday court appearance, Judge Kimberly Koester found probable cause to hold Moulton over for trial. Judge Koester set Moulton's bond for $300,000. He was also ordered not to have any contact with a child under age 18.

Moulton is being held in Effingham County Jail. He is next due in court this Thursday morning for his first appearance with his attorney.
