One of the most painful among many tough choices made by the Neoga school board a couple of years ago during trying budget times was reducing the length of the school day.

Rather than the usual dismissal time after 3pm, students have been dismissed just before 2pm. The move caused Neoga teachers' planning periods to move to the end of the day, but students didn't have as much time to learn.

Decisions by Neoga officials the past couple of years, though, has enabled the Board to decide at this month's meeting to restore the full length school day for next school year.

The Board also voted this month to add an Agriculture class and a Technology class to the curriculum for next school year.

Neoga board members also voted to sell four excess school buses, and acted on some personnel matters.

A resignation was accepted from Ruthie Moderau as high school softball assistant coach. The Board approved Jordan Bear as junior high track coach, April Webb as junior high scholar bowl sponsor, and April Somkovic as volunteer junior high volleyball assistant.
