Healy Next Superintendent at St. Elmo

Julie Healy has been hired as the next superintendent of the St. Elmo Unit #202 School District.

Healy was given a three-year contract that begins July 1. 

Healy is currently serving as superintendent of the North Wayne School District based in Cisne. She has over 25 years' experience in education, working as a teacher and a principal before becoming a superintendent. She spent several years in the North Clay School District in Louisville, including time as high school principal.

Healy will succeed Deb Philpot at St. Elmo. Philpot is retiring as of June 30.

Also Monday, the St. Elmo board set St. Elmo High School's graduation date for May 20 at 5pm.

The Board also heard a mid-year financial update from Philpot, who said no categorical funds have been paid by the State for this fiscal year.
