City Police Investigate Residential Burglary, Theft

Effingham city police are investigating a residential burglary as well as a theft.

The residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of St. Anthony Avenue sometime between 4pm and 10pm Monday. 

A wallet was taken along with checks, ID card, debit and credit cards, Social Security card, insurance cards and an undetermined amount of cash.

Police are also investigating theft of an undetermined amount of cash from a gym bag at 1301 North Maple.

The theft occurred sometime between 8:50am and 11am Tuesday.
