An Indiana man was injured in a crash in Cumberland County.

The crash happened at 6:45am Friday on I-70 eastbound, four miles east of Montrose.

State police report a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Alan Erickson of West Lafayette, Indiana swerved to avoid striking a deer on the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and crossed the median, then crossed the westbound lanes of the interstate and struck a ditch and then a fence, coming to rest against a tree.

Erickson was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
