A Greenup nursing home has been fined by the state for a violation that occurred during the fourth quarter of 2016.

The Illinois Department of Public Health announced the violations that occurred statewide during the quarter. That included a violation of the Nursing Home Care Act by Cumberland Rehab and Health Care Center.

The facility was fined $25,000 for delaying physician notification and treatment of a resident suffering chest pain due to a heart attack, resulting in heart damage.

The facility also was fined at the Federal level a total of $94,983 by the US Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
