There will be ghosts, superheroes and things that go bump in the night on the streets of Effingham Wednesday evening for Halloween.
Mayor Merv Gillenwater designated Wednesday evening as Trick or Treat Night in Effingham from 6-8 p.m. For those wishing to participate in Trick or Treat Night by receiving trick or treaters, leave porch lights on. Parents can help keep their children safe by dressing little ones in appropriate costumes and masks, providing flashlights, accompanying smaller children, visiting only households of people you know and inspecting treats.
The Effingham Downtown Merchants are having Trick or Treat on Halloween night. Everyone is invited to this safe and family friendly atmosphere. Businesses participating include:
Chesnut Family Music, Baseball Card Connection, Bike & Hike, Brown's Drug Store, H&R Block, Hair 1-2-3, Jefferson Street Gifts, Joe's Pizza, LaPetite Boutique, Noah's Ark Pet Shoppe, Osteen & Chojnicki Attorneys At Law, Downtown Popcorn Shoppe, Scott Ealy Attorney At Law, Village Wine & Gifts, Waymo's Photography and the Effingham County Culutural Center & Museum Association at the courthouse.
