Busy Night for the North Clay School Board

The North Clay Community Unit #25 met Thursday night. Among several items on the agenda was discussion of the construction and renovation of several projects within the district.  Ed Kirchner, of Eggemeyer Associates Architects, was present to explain information on potential projects needed in relation to Life Health Safety and remaining issues within the district. Those projects include:  
 
New doors and windows at HS (priority 1 through Life Safety)
Remove boilers/install mini-boiler for climate control in HS gym
Repair/replace mansard board on elementary building
Replace needed window panels/windows at elementary building
Tuckpointing or EIFS of jr. high addition
Renovation of plumbing and ADA bathrooms at HS
Renovation/reconstruction of breezeway from main HS bldg to Ag building for security reasons
Reconstruction and enclosure of HS stairwells
 
The board then went into closed session and upon returning to open session at 11:40 p.m., the following motions were made:
 
Approved staying the second year of student 12-21-16A’s expulsion providing the student successfully completes all district requirements.
Hired Courtney Logan as a substitute cook based upon completion of requirements.
Hired Michele Lovett as Jr. High assistant volleyball coach for 2016-17 season only.
Hired Amy Thurman as a substitute nurse effective immediately.
 
The board also announced a special board meeting for Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 beginning at 6:30 p.m.  An agenda will be posted later.
