One Injured in Weather-Related Crash

One person was injured in a weather-related crash in Effingham over the weekend.

The crash happened at 3:47pm Saturday north of the intersection of Walk Avenue and South US 45 on the city's south end. 

City police report a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Michelle Sidwell of Watson slid on the ice-covered roadway and collided with a vehicle driven by 63-year-old Leah Niemerg of Dieterich. A passenger in the Niemerg vehicle, 63-year-old Paul Niemerg of Dieterich, was injured but refused treatment. 

No citations were issued.
