Weather was a factor in a crash north of Effingham Tuesday morning.

Effingham County Sheriff's Deputies report a car and SUV were traveling on 1650th Street, north of the Teutopolis frontage road and just east of I-57 at 8:15am. The SUV driven by 69-year-old Donald Fulk of Teutopolis was going slow over the snow-covered I-70 overpass and the car, driven by 16-year-old Will Schlink of Effingham, could not slow down and rear-ended the SUV.

Donald Fulk and his passenger, 65-year-old Sharon Fulk of Teutopolis, were both injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Schlink was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
