A motor vehicle accident with a rollover was reported Saturday as the Teutopolis Fire Department was called out.

The accident occurred at 10:28 p.m. at the intersection of 1950th Street and 1400th Avenue in Teutopolis. A 1997 GMC was eastbound on 1400th Avenue approaching 1950th Street when a 2007 Ford that was northbound on 1950th Street failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. The GMC struck the Ford in a T-bone causing the GMC to toll over and rest on its top in a corn field. The Ford was sitting upright in the roadway after the crash.

First units arrived at 10:34 p.m. and found the roadway blocked with vehicles and derbris. One of the occupants was in critical condition and was transported via Air Evac medical helicopter to a trauma center hospital.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 10:50 p.m. The crash is being handled by Effingham County Sheriff's Department. Agencies assisting on the scene were the Teutopolis Police Department, Effingham City-County Ambulance, Effingham County Sheriff's Department and Air Evac.

We're working on getting more details, including names and conditions of those involved.
