Bierman Hired as Sheriff's Deputy

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has announced the hiring of Doug Bierman as a full-time Sheriff’s Deputy.

Deputy Bierman brings over ten years of law enforcement experience to the Sheriff’s Office. He was first employed in Law Enforcement in 2005, when he was hired by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer where he worked for a year and a half. In 2007 he was hired as a full time Police Officer for the city of Newton, where he was promoted to Corporal in 2011. He was also a K-9 handler for the city of Newton.

Deputy Bierman is a 2007 graduate of the University of Illinois, Police Training Institute and a 2004 graduate of Lake Land College, with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Doug and his wife Lynn, along with their three children will be relocating to the Dieterich area.
