Two SUVs collided early Thursday morning after one of the vehicles stopped on the interstate.

State police report 60-year-old Karen Funk of Springfield was traveling on I-70, about a mile west of Casey, at 12:03am when Funk decided to stop in the middle of the right lane and turned off the lights on the vehicle.

A following unit driven by 40-year-old Alexander Lebedevin of Asheville, North Carolina came upon Funk's vehicle and only saw the vehicle with enough time to swerve to the left lane, but still sideswiped the Funk vehicle.

Funk was injured in the crash and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, then was transferred to a Springfield hospital for additional treatment.

Funk was cited for DUI drugs and improper parking on a roadway.
