DeRyke Transferred to Menard

Convicted murderer Justin DeRyke has been transferred to another correctional facility.

The 25-year-old DeRyke faces life in prison without possibility of parole. He pleaded guilty to the September 2013 murder of his niece, Willow Long in Watson. 

DeRyke had been held in Stateville Correctional Center, but has been transferred to Menard Correctional Center in Chester. The Illinois Department of Corrections said the reasons for transfer of an inmate are not made public.
