Siemer Outstanding Philanthropist Recipient To Be Announced Saturday

Each year Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation sponsors an award program to identify and recognize outstanding philanthropic achievements by individuals in Southeastern Illinois.

This year, five nominations were received for the Richard C. Siemer Outstanding Philanthropist Award and are reviewed by a selected panel of volunteers and professionals from the area.

"Rick Siemer was the first recipient of this award and is a perfect example of someone who not only gives significant funds, but gets involved with causes he values," said Joedy Hightower, President and CEO of the Community Foundation. "We are excited to announce this year's recipient to another deserving area philanthropist."

The Richard C. Siemer Outstanding Philanthropist Awards honors an individual or family with a proven record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support and volunteer leadership, demonstrates outstanding civic and charitable responsibility. The 2012 recipient will be announced at the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation Benefit Dinner Saturday, October 27 at the Keller Convention Center in Effingham.
