12th Annual Effingham County Thanksgiving Day Dinner

The Effingham County FISH Organization is sponsoring the 12th Annual Effingham County Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

The dinner will be offered on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Center, 407 S. Henrietta, Effingham.

This free dinner is open to all Effingham County residents and their families who would like to enjoy Thanksgiving with others. The dinner will start at 11:30am. 

Home-delivered meals will be available for homebound individuals. There will also be free transportation available by volunteers or Effingham County Public Transportation.

For those persons wishing to attend the meal, please RSVP by November 21 by contacting Susan Elke at 868-5913, Harold Heth at 868-2854, or the Effingham County Senior Center at 347-5569. Please let them know when you RSVP whether you need transportation, or phone Effingham County Public Transportation at 855-755-2478 by noon on November 23 to reserve a ride.

For those who need home-delivered meals, phone the Senior Center at 347-5569 by November 21.

Organizers are also in need of volunteers to help set up the Parish Center, package and deliver meals to the homebound, transport individuals who need transportation to and from the church, and serve those people attending the meal. A reminder that this is not just a dinner for seniors; all in the county and their families are welcome to attend.
