The Effingham Water Authority began its leaf vac program today.

Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks said residents are asked to pile leaves ONLY along the edge of the road in front of their leased property. No limbs or other landscape waste will be picked up.

Dirks said the Water Authority will try to pickup leaves on a timely basis, and asked residents NOT to contact the Water Authority to schedule pickup times.

Leaf burning is allowed on Water Authority properties Mondays through Saturdays starting at 8am, but burns must be extinguished by 5pm. No leaf burning is allowed on Water Authority properties on Sundays.
