Two people were injured in a four-wheeler crash northeast of Martinsville early Sunday morning.

State police report a unit operated by 21-year-old Taylor Loftis of Casey was traveling on a rural road four miles northeast of Martinsville just after 2:30am Sunday when Loftis lost control of the ATV. The unit overturned on the roadway. Loftis and his passenger, 18-year-old Shayley Shaffer of Greenup, were injured. Loftis was airlifted to Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN, while Shaffer was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle.

Loftis was cited for improper operation of an ATV on a roadway, failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and DUI alcohol.
