It's time to get those shoeboxes ready!

Operation Christmas Child for 2016 will take place in November, with Cornerstone Christian Church on South Banker again serving as the Effingham headquarters.

The endeavor is sponsored by the worldwide ministry known as Samaritan's Purse. The organization headed by Franklin Graham ministers to those in need around the world in various ways. Most recently, the global endeavor has been working in the Caribbean to assist those hammered by Hurricane Matthew.

Operation Christmas Child is unique in that supporters are asked to pack their shoeboxes with toys, books, coloring books and crayons, and other kid-friendly items. The shoeboxes are then shipped to kids all around the world to demonstrate the love of Jesus.

The hours for turning in your shoeboxes have been set:

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 14-15-16 from 9-11am each day

Thursday and Friday, November 17-18 from 5:30-7:30pm each day

Saturday, November 19 from 9-11am

Sunday, November 20 from 2-5pm

Monday, November 21 from 9am-8pm

Pat Berry is the local Operation Christmas Child coordinator.
