Teutopolis Man Injured in Crash Thursday Night

A Teutopolis man was injured in a crash on US Route 40 at Crystal Street between Effingham and Teutopolis Thursday night.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports 30-year-old Tyler J. Koester was one of two men, both from Teutopolis, involved in the crash at 7:58pm Thursday. Deputies say Koester was eastbound on Route 40 while 57-year-old James L. Anders was southbound on Crystal Street. The report indicates Anders failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign and pulled out in front of Koester.

Koester was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Anders was cited for failure to yield.
