A Teutopolis woman was injured in a Monday morning crash on East Fayette Avenue.

Effingham City Police report a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Rebecca Lidy was eastbound on Fayette at 7:28am when Lidy fell asleep. Lidy's vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a power pole, breaking the pole, which remained upright. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its side up against a building. There was no damage to the building.

Lidy was trapped inside her vehicle until she was extricated by Effingham Fire Department firefighters. She was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

City police say there were no citations issued.
