Austin, Texas, singer, songwriter Slaid Cleaves is returning to perform in a fundraising concert in Effingham on Saturday, October 22 at 7 p.m. at the Village Wine Store downtown at Banker and Jefferson.

An award winning singer, songwriter and guitarist, Slaid Cleaves' music has been described as rooted in country and traditional folk songs with a strong element of the blues. This combines to create an Americana sound reminiscent of American artists like Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Known for one of his first albums, "No Angel Knows", Cleaves' latest critically acclaimed album is entitled "Still Fighting the War."

Tickets are strictly limited and available for purchase at the Village Wine Store or online at Eventbrite and cost $25 (General Admission Seated). There is a booking fee for tickets purchased through Eventbrite. This is a fundraising event for the Effingham Public Library Building Fund.
