US Route 45 in Effingham (N. 3rd St.) from Rickelman Avenue to Technology Drive will be milled in preparation for asphalt resurfacing early next week.

IDOT says the milling will take place from 6pm Monday, October 3 to 7am Tuesday, October 4. Route 45 will be down to one lane and flaggers will be directing traffic. Interstate exit and entrance ramps will remain open at the Route 45 interchange during the milling work.

However, all exit and entrance ramps at the Route 45 interchange will be CLOSED from 9pm Tuesday, October 4 to 7am Wednesday, October 5 with interstate traffic detoured to the Keller Drive interchange at Exit 160. A marked detour will be in place and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and can expect up to 15-minute delays.

McCarthy Improvement is the prime contractor and Steve Miller is the Resident Engineer for IDOT. Questions concerning the project should be directed to Miller at 651-788-3958 or Bob Utz at the Effingham IDOT office at 217-342-3951.
