The Jasper Unit #1 Board of Education is looking to fill a vacancy.

The Board has accepted the resignation of Bill Flowers. The resignation is effective immediately.

In regular business, the Jasper board approved parent volunteers Bethany Marshall, Megan Will and Latisha Elliott at Ste. Marie Elementary and Newton Elementary for academic purposes; officially hired Austin Ferguson as a full-time bus driver; accepted the resignation of Josh Benefiel as Jasper County Junior High head boys basketball coach, due to time constraints associated with his duties as assistant principal at Newton Elementary; approved Jordan Michels to succeed Benefiel as head coach and approved Bradley Bloemer as assistant junior high boys coach; approved the resignation of Darla Johnson as School Nurse; and approved hiring JoAnn Wade as high school dishwasher.

The Jasper board also approved the budget for the new fiscal year, which is a balanced budget. The Board also approved repayment of loans from one fund to another and the re-transfer of funds.
