The charges allege that Tate was found to be acting as a bodyguard for prostitutes, and that he forced his way into a home, battered the home's resident with a club, and stole a television.

The resident was taken to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County, while Tate was taken to Coles County Jail. Mattoon police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
