Effingham Water Authority trustees have given their approval to the proposed Enterprise Zone that would include portions of the City of Effingham and the Village of Teutopolis.

Effingham City Administrator Jim Arndt presented the request for approval. Enterprise Zone status allows for tax exemptions on improvements in the zone and a break on materials used to make the improvements.

A property dispute was presented to the Board by Eric and Terry Johnson. Water Authority Attorney Tony Siemer said he is aware of the dispute and made it known that neither he nor the Board was at liberty to discuss the dispute.

Also, Brian Larson informed the Board that a truck show tentatively scheduled for this fall has been canceled.
