ALTAMONT -- The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Altamont Community Unit School District Number 10 was held Monday evening.

It was reported Effingham County Manufacturing Day will be October 6. Students from 13 area high schools and the four alternative high schools will tour various manufacturers in Effingham County to learn about available positions for future employement.

Posted once again for bus drivers. Anyone interested come to the unit office.

The board approved maternity leave for Jenna Murray, accepted the resignation of Steve Long as seventh-grade girls basketball coach, approved employment of non-certified staff teacher aid, Barb Williams, approved employment of non-certfied staff high school secretary, Nikki Tedrick, approved Jay Koester as eighth-grade boys basketball coach for 2016-27, approved Mike  Delaney as freshman-sophomore boys basketball coach for 2016-27, approved Brooke Osteen as seventh-grade girls basketball coach for 2016-17, adopted joint agreement resolution for Okaw Area Vocational  Center for 2017-18, approved application for Recognition of Schools for FY 2017, heard presentation on Decennial Health Life Safety Survey and approved early graduation request for Annabella Matthews.

Action as a result of closed session, approved 1.5% increase for exempt non-certified employees for 2016-17.
