State universities are reporting mixed numbers on fall enrollment.

The University of Illinois was near a record incoming freshman class this year, and Illinois State is doing quite well.

ISU reports they have their largest fall signup in 27 years. More than 3,600 freshmen are enrolled as Redbirds.

That's not the case at Southern Illinois. Saluki enrollment is down 7.5%, to just under 16,000 students.
