Pana Man Sentenced in Effingham County to Prison Time

A Pana man is headed to prison after violating his probation.

27-year-old Matthew D. Gordon was sentenced to two years in prison in Effingham County Circuit Court Wednesday. Gordon had been placed on probation for driving while his license is suspended and aggravated fleeing or eluding a police officer. He was later found to have been consuming alcohol, which violated a provision in his probation and was resentenced to prison time.

Gordon's 2015 probation had come following a pursuit on Illinois Route 33 that saw Gordon traveling over 100MPH. The pursuit ended when Gordon's vehicle ran off the roadway, coming to rest in a field.
