Among many goals when taking on the challenges facing the Neoga school district, Superintendent Beth Pressler wanted to update the district curriculum.

The decision was to review the Math curriculum first. Thursday, the Board heard from consultant Denny Cook and faculty members as to which program to choose, and Board members approved the acquisition of the new Grades K-12 program.

Board members also agreed to a draft of the budget for the new fiscal year with adoption expected at the September meeting, and also adopted District vision and mission statements.

Nate Pugh was hired as a part-time assistant principal working in the elementary building, and Amy Clark was hired as a part-time speech pathologist also working at Sigel St. Michael School.

The Neoga board also took action on other personnel matters. Abby Saalfrank was named the new Neoga volleyball coach, and Lucas Hunt was hired as frosh/soph fall assistant baseball coach as fall baseball returns to Neoga this year and was also named junior high boys assistant baseball coach. Bailey Banning was named the junior high cheerleading sponsor and Lacy Eden was named the high school cheerleading coach.

Neoga board members also approved the Backpack Ministry for a third year with Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga. The ministry provides food for kids in need.
