Successors have been determined for various pro-life positions in Effingham County due to health problems being battled by Loretta Koester.

Mrs. Koester is dealing with various ailments, including a stroke, and has asked to be relieved of most of her leadership roles.

Judy Repking was chosen the new chairman of the Bishop's Pro-Life Committee. Marilyn Winter is taking over supervision of the Effingham County Fair activities, Angie Esker will be in charge of the Annual Day of Prayer in June at St. Francis Parish in Teutopolis, and Carla Slifer will manage the Life Chain held in October in Sacred Heart Parish in Effingham.

Politics was also discussed at the July Prayer Vigil for Life. It was noted Planned Parenthood has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, and that the GOP plank has grown more pro-life with specific steps taken to strengthen pro-life goals.
