Cumberland School Board Discusses Start of New Year

Cumberland school board members are getting things ready for the new year.

Registration for the coming year is set for Tuesday, August 9 from 8am to 7pm in the high school cafeteria.

As to the start of the school year, teacher in-service is set for August 25 from 8am to 1pm with a Meet Your Teacher event scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 that evening. August 26 will be the first student attendance day with a 2:10pm dismissal.

A 5th grade orientation is planned on August 16 at 6pm, and middle school students are invited to attend registration with their parents to finalize their Art, Band, Choir and flex courses for the school year.

Also, Cumberland Superintendent Todd Butler reported that work to resurface the parking lots is progressing, with plans to stripe the lots, and that the electrical project should be completed within the next two weeks.
