Sara Evans, Thompson Square Complete DuQuoin Fair Lineup

The Du Quoin State Fair has finalized the 2016 Grandstand line-up, complete with four country concerts, two rock acts, a blast from the past and a contemporary Christian band. County music superstar Sara Evans and Thompson Square round out the line-up for the 2016 Du Quoin State Fair by delivering an all-star performance on Saturday, August 27th.

"We have put together a line-up that will appeal to a wide audience of music lovers in southern Illinois," said State Fair Manager Kevin Gordon. "Not only have we put together a well-rounded line-up, but these may be the most affordable concert tickets in the Midwest. I hope southern Illinois fairgoers come out and support the Du Quoin State Fair."

Sara Evans is a multi-platinum selling country singer-songwriter who has been called 'one of the most compelling vocalists of her generation.' Evans has seen success on country charts as well as several crossover hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Evans is best known for songs such as, "Suds in the Bucket," "No Place That Far," "Born To Fly," and "A Little Bit Stronger." She has also collaborated with everyone from Vince Gill and the Warren Brothers to Isaac Slade of The Fray and Gavin DeGraw. Sara Evans was also the first female country artist to appear on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

Opening for Sara Evans on Saturday, August 27th will be Thompson Square. The duo is known for its powerhouse vocals and awe-inspiring harmonies. Thompson Square has topped the charts in the United States, Canada and Australia with hits such as, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" and "If I Didn't Have You." The husband and wife act were recognized as the ACM and CMA Vocal Duo of the Year in 2012, and continue to be a force to reckoned with in the world of modern day country music.

Tickets to see Sara Evans with Thompson Square will go on sale at 9:00am on Wednesday, July 27th via Ticketmaster and the fairgrounds box office. The fairgrounds box office will be open Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. The fairgrounds box office can also take phone orders. That number is (618) 542-1535.
