North Clay school board and park board members are again talking about building a baseball diamond on the school grounds.

The diamond now used by the Cardinals is at the village park. An intergovernmental agreement with the Park District was discussed at this week's school board meeting, including a new diamond on school property.

After considerable discussion, the school board directed Superintendent Monty Aldrich to work with the school district attorney on a draft agreement to be reviewed by the board at their August meeting.

The school board also learned that the NCAF and FFA Alumni have jointly purchased a LED message sign to be placed in front of the Commons between the school buildings in Louisville along US Route 45. School officials have been working with several companies to get the best prices and have saved some money by doing the installation work themselves. The sign is to arrive around the first part of August. Each building will be able to electronically submit messages to display, and specific school signs will be placed on the existing signs to promote school spirit.

Board members also heard that a possible co-op curriculum for Animal Science is not going to be possible for what was termed "various reasons", so no action was taken.

In personnel moves, the North Clay board hired Avery Williams as junior high cheerleading sponsor, hired Ronnie Hyder as junior high assistant baseball coach, decided to keep closed session minutes from earlier this year closed, recalled paraprofessionals Kim Teague and Mayana Blair for the coming school year, and accepted the resignation of Tyler Mulvany as junior high assistant basketball coach.
