An Odin man was fatally injured as the result of a crash Saturday morning involving a SUV and two motorcycles.

The crash happened at 7:05am on US Route 51, just north of Patoka. The crash resulted in the death of the rider of one of the cycles involved, 47-year-old Kevin Koenegstein.

State police report the SUV, driven by 20-year-old Ryan Feezel of Brownstown, crossed the centerline of the highway and struck Koenegstein's cycle. The cycle overturned and caught fire.

Feezel's SUV overturned and landed on its driver's side. Another cycle, operated by 50-year-old Mary Koenegstein of Odin, struck wreckage from the collision and became disabled.

Both Kevin Koenegstein and Feezel were taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Feezel told police he fell asleep. He was cited for improper lane usage.
