Three people were injured in a crash in Dieterich Thursday evening.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reported the crash happened off Illinois 33 at 212 West Center Street at 5:40pm.

Deputies say a car driven by 42-year-old Shelby Liszewski of Robinson was eastbound entering Dieterich when Liszewski lost control of the vehicle. The unit crossed the left lane and headed off the highway into the yard at 212 West Center Street. Liszewski overcorrected and the car slid sideways into a utility pole. Some power lines were knocked down onto the roadway.

Liszewski was injured, as were her passengers, 13-year-old Heath Liszewski and eight-year-old Leighton Liszewski, also of Robinson. All three were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Deputies cited Shelby Liszewski for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
