The Village of Dieterich has planned a festive 4th of July.

Activities will actually get started on Sunday evening, July 3 at Liberty Memorial Park. A food stand will open at 6:30pm and a beer tent at 7pm. Tress and the Mixers will entertain from 8-11pm with no cover charge.

Food, fun and games for the entire family are planned on Monday, July 4. Here's the schedule:

--7:30am--Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

--7:30-11pm--Beer Tent

--10:30am-2pm--Kluthe Civic Center Hog Roast

--11am--Parade (Theme "All Gave Some, Some Gave All")

--11am--Concession Stands Open with porkburgers, lemon shakeups and more

--12 noon-6pm--Petting Zoo on the north side of the park pond

--12 noon-dusk--Inflatable Bounce Houses

--1pm--Gravity Golf on baseball diamond for all ages

--1pm--Youth Pedal Tractor Pull on basketball court

--1pm--Dunking Booth

--1pm--Bingo

--1-3pm--Kids Firefighter Experience near tennis court (FREE)

--2pm--Power Wheels Demo Derby on basketball court (FREE)

--2pm--Dieterich Co-ed Alumni Softball Game (contact Amanda Gephart at 217-821-6926 to play in the game)

--2-4pm--Face Painting (FREE)

--3-5pm--Firebox Bluegrass Band under the pavilion

--3pm--Turtle Races on tennis court (bring your own turtle)

--4pm--Home Run Derby on softball diamond after the alumni game

--5pm--Bags Tournament (pre-registration required)

--7pm--Little King and Queen Contest

--8pm--Merchant Raffle Drawings

--9:15pm--Fireworks
